I know I promised to not write about the Duggar family until the next engagement but I feel once the show resumes and we have had the privledge of watching the last wedding another engagement will be announced. Perhaps Jessa is already engaged or another courtship is beginning. I sure hope its Jana so she can escape from the fold and that her potential mate isn't completely immersed in the cult.
The ATI is a CULT, a CULT that is operating openly and people need to wake up. I am not some heathen who doesn't believe in God. I believe in God and I was raised in the Baptist church. My parents along with other friends hired their own minister and they broke away from a very large church to begin their own. Our childhood was NORMAL for the eighties. Yes we were expected to act decently and we followed the 10 COMMANDMENTS but we were given freedom to make some of our own decisions and were not enslaved by our parents. ATI demands that it's members follow strict guidelines and the children have it worse.

The thing that screams Cult the most is the Church's total control of it's congregation. Parents are encouraged to homeschool their children and pretty much limit their contact with the outside world or the influence of the outside world by controlling internet access and removing television from the home.
In my opinion the families are denying their children life by pounding biblical teaching in their heads but not allowing them to experience life to strengthen their own devotion to God. The problem isn't homeschooling though although it does stunt their emotional growth and maturity. It begins with sheltering the kids 100% of the time and not allowing interaction with kids not involved with the ATI. One of my own friend' s son was being homeschooled but they made a point to get him involved in 4H, various sports such as baseball & basketball, horseback riding etc. But he was also taught Science which is hardly taught to kids in the ATI. The parents knew the importance of allowing him the oppurtunity to interact with other children. My friends are Pentecostal and have since enrolled him in a Christian School where his Mother is a teacher. Even my own Nieces and Nephew were educated in a private Catholic School. One of my nieces is studying to become a pediatric Nurse at a State University besides working a full time job at Hallmark. Without a knowledge of Science her choices would if been limited. The ATI removes career choices for women because they are expected to Marry and have alot of children.
The thing that concerns me the most about the ATI is the ALERT ACADEMY.
17 and 18 year old boys are given Military Type Training that the parents pay for to strengthen Brain Washing? It almost seems ridiculous that most people overlook the potential threat of the ATI training their own Military. In the 90s when the Branch Davidians purchased weapons the ATF and FBI responded. We all know about WACO and what happened.
