Living life Duggar Style Part 4

After a few more of the children get married I expect to see big changes in the Duggar household. Michelle will lose a few of the BiBs (built in babysitters) so she will be forced to actually participate in the younger children's lives. Time to step up and be a parent Michelle. I'm sure she's more involved with the children's lives and not what's depicted on the television, I hope she is anyways. I'm sure she's a good mom but as a viewer that's something I've yet to see.

My hopes for the other children is for them to have the opportunity to spend time outside of the home without a chaperone or parent closeby watching. Experiencing the real world will not make them less Christian. It might give them opportunities to make choices on their own and sometimes they might make mistakes but how they deal with making mistakes is what really matters. Learning to make choices on their own and accepting the consequences of making a mistake will better prepare them for the real world.

My own Mom was brought up in a large family similar to the Duggars, my grandfather was a Wesleyan minister. I am sure it was difficult for my grandparents to allow my mom to attend college 200 miles away but they trusted my mom to make her own decisions . I was brought up attending church 2-3 times a week so I'm not some heathen questioning their parenting style. My parents allowed us to make our own decisions as long as we accepted the consequences because if we were raised right bad choices were few & far between but they did happen occassionly. Nobody is perfect and we all sin differently. How we learn from our mistakes is what makes us human.
